Picking and choosing from the sea and the land, the local cuisine serves the local produce well. It is high quality, abundant and varied. The local area benefits from a large network of top class growers, fishermen and wine experts. From the sea (oyster, scallop…), the Loire (elvers, pike -perch), vegetables (leeks, lamb’s lettuce…) meat (poultry from Ancenis, Nantes cattle…), cheese (from la Pannetière, Beillevaire…). All these delicious ingredients are found on our plates and in our markets in season. Everything is either grown, caught or bred close to the town.
