Restaurant Bénureau
The saying “La tradition a du bon” (“there is good in tradition”) is truer here than anywhere else, because this is the sixth generation of the Bénureau family (restaurateurs since 1850) who welcome you into this 19th century mansion. The cuisine is essentially focussed on local terroir ingredients, which subtly enhances the “traditional” regional dishes: fish au beurre blanc, small blue lobster stew, filet of pigeonneau (squab) with Noirmoutier potatoes, frog’s legs, scallops with shellfish coulis.
Examples of main courses:
Salmon carefully smoked by us with blinis.
Cuisses de grenouilles (frog’s legs) sauce Poulette.
Chocolate soufflé, cacao sorbet and orange macaron.
