Le Charrette
Although this very convenient restaurant next to Place Viarme draws in its fair share of flea market flâneurs, others come for its original recipes stuffed with countless inventions: the olé olé of squid cooked with chorizo and bell peppers, thin sardine pie on crushed tomatoes and olive tapenade, filet of fresh cod, andouillette à l’andouille (tripe sausage) in wakame butter, and crémeux of shellfish and crab, artichokes in vinaigrette. Simple and pleasant brasserie setting.
Examples of main courses:
Croustillant de Curé Nantais (crispy cheese dumpling), Indian-style vinaigrette.
Fricassée d’andouillette (tripe sausage), old-fashioned mustard.
Spiced pears, almond blancmange and Kouign Amann (Breton butter cake).
