La Tête Noire (Crêperie)
In a tiny dark street behind Place Royale, this crêperie is run out of what was once a shed belonging to a wholesaler in sugar, spices, and rum. Being there, one is transported to another time. It’s a paradise for fans of delicious and well-made Breton galettes (fresh ingredients, excellent quality flour) all whipped up by the father/chef (who also goes from table to table) while women and children dance around to the sound of traditional biniou bagpipes. Very warm service. Best experienced as a family.
Examples of main courses:
Galette La Nantaise: mushrooms, ham, crème fraîche.
Galette La Robiquette: Breton sausage, stewed tomatoes.
Crêpe La Régale: homemade melted chocolate, vanilla ice cream.
